I Saw the Diet Light!

 

Need a little diet help to accelerate your weight loss plan? To market, to market!  It's a dieter's paradise these days with all the light versions of some of the most popular foods.

Though fat free items may be cutting out more taste than calories, most 'light or lite' versions are very palatable. We recommend the following based on taste:

Diet Foundation - Sand or Rock?

Is your diet buried in the sand? Build your diet plan on a solid foundation!  So many times throughout the Bible, God shows us time and time again that foundation is everything. In our lives, God is our foundation. If our house is on a shaky foundation, it won't survive - and neither will our weight loss plan. In fact, if we build our diet on sand, we may get so frustrated that we end up burying our heads in that sand!

Planning is an important part of dieting, just as the type of diet plan that you choose.  We feel that the best diet plan is based on natural foods, exercise in moderation, and relaxation techniques. And now for that oh-so-familiar song.....

The wise man built his house upon the rock, the wise man built his house upon the rock, the wise man built his house upon the rock and the rains came tumbling down....

The best foundation that one can have for a healthy life is God. Current health studies and risks associated with obesity are very disturbing, especially to the individual who is fighting the Weight Loss Battle.

However, studies tend to override one another - so it can become confusing.  One study indicates that thin people live longer; the next study touts that older people who are padded a bit are healthier. So which is it?

Nonetheless, only God knows when, how, where and what. More than obesity, more than cancer, more than severe heart conditions - He, and only He determines that 'when, how, where and what'.  

If you have unwanted pounds, then think about making a dedicated effort to get them off. In the meantime, rest safe that God holds the keys to the universe and though we can work towards a healthier life plan, God remains the final judge regarding our time on earth.

Scared Into Dieting

Have you ever listened to a minister who preached eternal hellfire and brimstone and nothing more? No mention of God's great love, of His forgiveness, and of His safekeeping of the saints? Many people come to God because they are 'scared into salvation'.

In the Diet World, many people are threatened with ill heath, with high medical bills looming in the distance, with a promise of an early death. They are scared into dieting.

Keep in mind that whether one is healthy or not, only God holds the keys to their soul. Only He knows the hour of the end of day. Also keep in mind that if one is overweight, it doesn't mean that they aren't as fit as someone who is thin.

Lean on Me

Some tips to a lean body and a healthy heart:

- always trim off all visible fat and marbled meat
- choose the leanest cuts available

- prepare meats by roasting, grilling, broiling, boiling - most any way except fried

- meats that are prepared as 'stand alones' rather than in casseroles or coated in gravy are most desirable for a lean body

Diet Sunset Until Dawn

Long ago, there used to be a popular joke that went something like this....  "I'm a light eater. I eat from daylight to moonlight."

Constant nibbling can destroy a diet plan and pack on unwanted pounds. While dieting, try to make way for three good meals each day - breakfast, lunch and dinner. A couple of light calorie snacks can also fit in nicely in most any diet plan. And be sure to keep tabs on beverages in the daily diet - which may the chief cause of weight gain.

If you're a nibbler, simply try to eat only three meals per day. You may discover that you are losing weight without going on a diet per say. By cutting out constant nibbling and keeping tabs on your beverage choices, you may just have hit upon the key to unlocking your Diet Door.

The First Vegetarians

In the beginning, Adam and Eve prospered off of all good things in the Garden of Eden. Well...almost all good things.....there was that 'tree thing incident' and it pretty much put an end to the vegetarian era. Nonetheless, in the beginning, was man made to eat meat?

There are so many related health risks to meat consumption. A diet rich in legumes, fruit and vegetables is one that mankind seems to thrive within. Many dieters couldn't do without meat. There's an old saying, "Meat eaters rule the world."

Something that's not too desirable to talk about is the fate of animals. We all see a nicely wrapped steak at the store, and it appears to be 'store bought'. The thing that got the beef to the store is hidden in Man's Concrete Jungle. So when you can, try to make fresh vegetables and fruits a big part of your weight loss plan. You'll be healthier for your efforts, and so will a lot of animals!
