“Anne, I’m serious. Where do you get that money roll?” Andrew asked, his brow furrowed as he studied Anne’s mischievous-looking face.
She wasn’t the most beautiful creature in the world, but she was quite ingenious where finances were concerned. Her attraction was more about her forceful nature than beauty, Andrew silently surmised.
On the other hand, Andrew failed miserably in this area. Like it or not, he needed Miss Anne Edwins. Like it or not, he would probably end-up hitched to her...ball and chain. He supposed there were worse fates in life but at the moment he couldn’t think of one.
“As I’ve assured you, I didn’t do anything outside of the law to get it,” Anne assured, her mischievous smile making Andrew think otherwise.
“Anne, are you certain?”
She giggled and shoved him away before standing back and making a fan of the money and studying it. Hundreds of dollars. Andrew had never seen so much money in his life.
