Poems About Nature by Willow Windsong

A Walk With Nature

Today I journeyed against a crooked sky

God's wondrous miracles did I spy

Some I saw at just a glance

Other encounters were circumstance

A white-tailed deer scampered nearby

Through a sunlit glen, vibrant and wide-eyed

The songbirds were plentiful, Globes of golden and red

Male and female cardinals with spiky-feathered heads

Old owl was hiding in the branches of the live oak

Contentedly sleeping but he quickly awoke

Flying thru the woods to safer haven

Home to the eagle and often the raven

An hour passed, my journey eclipsed

I saw so many things but numerous wonders missed

Those I'll save for another day's walk

Good riddance! said the owl, along with the hawk.
